Our Seventh Visit to Walt Disney World
March 5-11, 2016
I had a work trip that put me in Tampa for four days. We decided to extend that into a vacation. I checked in at Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter Resort for one solo night, then Michelle flew down to join me on Sunday morning. We checked into Disney's Polynesian Village Resort for 5 nights. We splurged and stayed Club Level. The view was great, but it wasn't worth the extra cost. The weather was perfect - sunny every day, warm without being too hot, and pleasant nights.

Day 1 - Saturday March 5, 2016
My day started early - I checked out of the lousy La Quinta at 5:30am before driving to the warehouse in Tampa. I finished my work just before noon, so I changed into shorts and hit the road for WDW. I spent the afternoon napping and relaxing at Port Orleans Riverside, then met up with Steve Hood, a BOGP friend for dinner at Maya Grill. Steve had recently started working at WDW as a security Cast Member. We had a nice Mexican dinner and I enjoyed his company!

As soon as I got in the car leaving work in Tampa I put on my Magic Band!

Day 2 - Sunday March 6, 2016
Michelle's flight arrived in Orlando at 10:45am, so I had plenty of time to relax before checking out of French Quarter and driving over to the airport. Thanks to another BOGP friend Joanne Griffith I knew just where to wait - a new cell phone lot. I got there in plenty of time to sit and watch planes land and takeoff, and I was able to track her flight on the iPad. After a stop at the outlet mall, we made our way to the Polynesian. We spent the afternoon and evening at the Magic Kingdom and had dinner at The Plaza restaurant.

Day 3 - Monday March 7, 2015
Our first full day started early - we actually made it to Animal Kingdom before the 8:00am opening. We planned to do everything we wanted to before our lunch at Yak & Yeti and then head over to Hollywood Studios. But we changed our minds and after lunch we grabbed a taxi to Disney Springs. Since we started at the west end, we got to see a lot of the new places that we hadn't seen before. We had cocktails at Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar. When we returned to the Polynesian, with no dinner plans we had appetizers and drinks at the Tambu Lounge. After that we made our way to Trader Sam's Grog Grotto for more drinks and appetizers. It was an awesome day!

Day 4 - Tuesday March 8, 2016
This day started with me having a Nitro Bass Fishing Excursion. The earliest I could get was 10am, so the fishing was terrible in the midday heat. But I still had fun! Michelle spent part of her morning shopping at the monorail resorts and the Magic Kingdom. We had changed our original dinner plans from The Boathouse at Disney Springs to Cape May Cafe since we would be spending the evening at Epcot.

Day 5 - Wednesday March 9, 2016
We spent this day at Magic Kingdom, had dinner at Ohana, then went back and closed the Magic Kingdom at midnight. We were able to do two attractions that we have never done before.

On our way up Main Street we met yet another BOGP friend. Photopass Cast Member Kim Taylor took several great pictures of us.

Day 6 - Thursday March 10, 2016
Today we ended up doing 3 parks in one day. It wasn't originally planned, but we decided to get up early and make rope drop at Hollywood Studios so we could ride Toy Story which we couldn't do when we were there earlier in the trip. Then following Tower of Terror, we took the boat over to Epcot to spend a couple hours there. After an afternoon break followed by dinner at Narcoosee's, we closed down Magic Kingdom again since it was our last night.
